Across the Pond

Wow, the last couple of weeks have roared by. Thanks to everyone who attended my Friday night event at ORWA’s Sweet and Spicy 2 conference. It was a terrific weekend, with excellent workshops presented by Jo Beverley, Kelley Armstrong, Molly O’Keefe, Opal Carew, our editor guests Rose Hilliard and Brenda Chin, and motivational speaker Chris Castillo. I gave a workshop too, on Plotting to a Deadline. If you check out my agent’s blog on November 10th, I’m revealing some of the information I’ve learned about plotting. My agent is Jessica Faust of BookEnds, LLC.

I’m packing and doing last minute preparation to head to London, England tomorrow. It will be a packed week of researching, and I’m heading out to Dartmoor and Dartmoor prison for two days. I’m taking a small laptop with me, so will post my adventures and pictures of the mysterious moor.

Have a great weekend!

Deep into Blood Deep

Hi All,
I’ve just printed out my WIP, Blood Deep, and am about to launch into the last read through. I’m really excited to be close to the finishing line. There’s always such a sense of excitement. Of course, my printer died and my computer is getting flakey, so a bit of panic is setting in.

Next Friday, I’m giving a welcoming party for the Ottawa Romance Writers Association’s Sweet and Spicy 2 conference. I did this for our very first conference and it was a lot of fun. I was so impressed by Heather Graham’s RT parties, I thought it would be cool to do my own (at a much, much smaller scale). So far, I feel I have everything under control, assuming I can get posters printed and book trailer DVDs made. If you’re going to the conference, I look forward to seeing you at the Friday Night event!

In other news, I’m on the cover of the November 2008 issue of Romantic Times. And I will be posting a new contest on my site soon to celebrate the October 1st release of Hot Silk.
